Why Dental Implants Have Become the Gold Standard
Losing a tooth, whether through decay, injury, or gum disease, affects far more than your smile. It changes the way you chew, the way you speak, and over time it allows the jawbone beneath the gap to shrink. Dental implants address all three problems at once because they replace the entire tooth, root and crown, rather than simply bridging the visible gap.
A dental implant is a small titanium post that is surgically placed into the jawbone. Over several months the bone fuses around it in a process called osseointegration, creating a foundation as stable as a natural root. Once healed, a custom-made porcelain crown is attached, restoring both function and appearance.
Who Is a Good Candidate?
Most adults with one or more missing teeth are candidates for implants, provided they have adequate bone density and healthy gums. Conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes, heavy smoking, or certain autoimmune disorders may require additional assessment. At Al Das, our dental team uses 3D cone-beam imaging to evaluate bone volume and plan implant placement with millimetre precision.
